Most people with dengue recover at home with rest and plenty of fluids. But some signs mean you must go to hospital without delay.
Danger signs
- Severe abdominal pain or repeated vomiting
- Bleeding from gums, nose or elsewhere
- Extreme weakness, restlessness or drowsiness
- Passing little urine
- Breathing difficulty
Be extra careful in the 1–2 days after the fever goes down. Do not take painkillers such as ibuprofen or aspirin on your own during fever; ask a doctor.
